Halston & Elsa. The Original Minimalists.

Take a look around and signs of Halston are everywhere, flowy goddess dresses, strapless, halters, one shoulder as jumpsuits, and monochromatic dressing. He was a genius, he was a first and he was an innovator.

I would argue the Netflix series failed to touch on any of the most important parts of his creative life, other than to focus on his pioneering attitude towards Brand Partnerships that sadly brought him down.

His collaboration with Elsa Peretti was a once-in-a-lifetime chance that two artists meet, work together and ultimately create one of the most recognizable and beautiful perfume bottles ever made. I mean who didn't own Haltston perfume in 1981? It surely wasn’t for the scent, it was the bottle. Elsa went on to bring us the silver cuff, the floating heart necklace (hello 1981 again) diamonds by the yard, and right now the omni-present gold chain link bracelet and necklace seen everywhere.

When you wear a Halston it demands that you dance, laugh and party your ass off! And that is exactly what I plan to do in my brand new vintage black strapless designed by none other than Mr. H himself.
